DMR Daily Activity Report Shows No New Permits or Filings Sunday
No new drilling permits, well completions, spud notices, or plugging reports were filed in North Dakota's latest daily update.
No new oil and gas activity was recorded in North Dakota’s official daily report for Sunday, October 4, according to the state Department of Mineral Resources. The DMR's daily activity report, which tracks regulatory filings from operators, contained no new permits, well completions, spud reports, or notices of plugged wells.
The daily report is a key source for tracking near-real-time operational activity in the Bakken formation and broader Williston Basin. It typically includes new permits approved for drilling, notices that a well has been spudded (drilling commenced), reports of well completions (when a well is finished and ready for production), and official notifications of well plugging.
Days with no new filings are a normal occurrence in the state's reporting system, especially following weekends and state holidays when operator offices and regulatory processing may be offline. The lack of new activity in a single daily report does not indicate a trend, as permit applications and completion reports are often filed in batches during the regular work week.
Bakken Wire will continue to monitor the DMR’s daily reports for updates on new drilling permits and well activity.
