On the consumer front, the recent Independence Day holiday saw the third most expensive gasoline prices on record for the date, despite a recent decline. Patrick De Haan, Head of Petroleum Analysis at GasBuddy, said the national average fell to approximately $3.74 per gallon on July 4 after prices dropped in nearly every state over the preceding week, according to Rigzone. Domestic fuel prices are a key determinant of gasoline crack spreads, influencing refinery demand for crude oil, including light sweet crude produced in the Williston Basin.

These reports collectively highlight the interconnected global and domestic factors influencing the Bakken region.
