1. Headlines
Oil prices are rebounding today after a sharp sell-off yesterday. As of midday, WTI is trading at $90.07, up 1.57%, with Brent at $93.35, according to price data. The rally is being attributed to a larger-than-expected draw in U.S. inventories. The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported a 3.3 million-barrel crude draw for the week ending May 22, surpassing the 2.8 million-barrel draw forecast by the American Petroleum Institute (API). Gasoline inventories also fell by 2.6 million barrels. This bullish data is countering yesterday’s price drop, which Rigzone reported was fueled by market speculation over a potential U.S.-Iran peace deal.
