Oil prices are rallying for a third consecutive session today. As of midday, WTI is up 2.23% to $95.85, and Brent is up 2.01% to $97.93. According to Saxo Bank's Ole S. Hansen, cited by Rigzone, the move is driven by growing market pessimism over a near-term U.S.-Iran deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The rally was given a fundamental boost by this morning's EIA inventory report, which showed a massive 8.0 million barrel draw in U.S. crude stocks for the week ending May 29, exceeding the prior day's API estimate of a 6.75 million barrel draw.
