Phoenix Operating Secures Four New Permits in Divide County

Devon, Hess, Continental, and EOG report well completions and status changes in latest DMR filings.

The North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources approved four new drilling permits on Monday, June 1, all filed by Phoenix Operating LLC for locations in Divide County. According to the DMR Daily Activity Report, the permits are for the Skabo field in Township 160N, Range 98W.

The approved permits are for the Gina Ferrari 13-12-1 1H-LL and three wells on the Candy Ferrari pad: the 24-25-36 2H, 4H, and 5H. This concentrated permitting activity highlights Phoenix Operating's focus on developing a specific section in the western Bakken.

Several previously confidential well statuses were updated in the report. Devon Energy Williston, L.L.C. had the Drovdal 5-8 5H in McKenzie County released from confidential status. Another Devon well, the Skaar 150-99-15-22-2H in the South Tobacco Garden field of McKenzie County, also had its status updated.

Completion reports from major operators were filed. Hess Bakken Investments II, LLC reported the BW-Wilson-149-99-3625H-3 in McKenzie County as a completed producing well in the Juniper field. Continental Resources, Inc. completed the Willey 7-3H in Williams County, reporting initial production of 1,235 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and 1,726 barrels of water per day (BWPD).

EOG Resources, Inc. completed the Mandaree 139-0706H in McKenzie County, reporting 873 BOPD and 1,230 BWPD. The filing also noted this well as a disposal well completion.

Additional status changes were reported for disposal wells. Formentera Operations, LLC updated the status of the Bull Mountain-31-31-DIV N112DW in Divide County. Firebird Services, LLC updated the status of the Adrian 1 SWD disposal well in Williams County.

The day's filings show activity concentrated in the core Bakken counties of McKenzie and Williams, alongside the new permitting in Divide County. Major operators like Continental and EOG continue to bring new producing wells online, while mid-sized operators like Phoenix are advancing new drilling projects.
