Marathon, Lime Rock, and Burlington also feature in Wednesday's North Dakota Oil and Gas Division filings, with activity concentrated in Dunn and McKenzie counties.
XTO Energy Inc. was the most active operator in Wednesday's North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources filings, securing six new drilling permits for a single pad in Dunn County. All permits are for the "GHOSTRIDER FEDERAL" project in Section 6-148N-96W, according to the DMR Daily Activity Report.
The approved permits, numbered 42995 through 43000, are for wells designated 34X-6H, 34X-6DXA, 34X-6EXH, 34X-6A, 34X-6F, and 34X-6B. The filings list the field as 'CONFIDENTIAL'.
Five permit renewals were also approved, indicating continued development planning by other operators. Lime Rock Resources III-A, L.P. renewed three permits for the "HARLAN REBSOM" project in Section 35-144N-95W, Dunn County, the report shows. The filings note the well locations are "outside of spacing unit" for the Murphy Creek field.

Separately, Burlington Resources Oil & Gas Company LP's renewal for the "PHANTOM SHIP 7B" well in McKenzie County was listed with production data: 702 barrels of oil per day and 555 barrels of water per day, according to the DMR.
The DMR report also listed four wells with updates to confidential status. Two Devon Energy Williston, L.L.C. wells in McKenzie County—"BARBARA 36-25F XW 1H" and "DROVDAL 5-8 2H"—were listed, alongside two Oasis Petroleum North America LLC wells, "BUD 5795 42-8 3B" and "BUD 5795 42-8 4B," in Williams County.
The day's activity underscores ongoing development in the core Bakken counties, with Dunn County seeing the bulk of new permitting and renewal activity. Operators are advancing projects on both confidential and established fields.
