Formentera Operations LLC received two new drilling permits in the DMR Daily Activity Report for yesterday's filings. The approved-permits category listed permits #43445 and #43446, both in Burke County's Larson field, according to the report.

Permit #43445 is for the DAVIDSON-23-11 N514H well, and permit #43446 is for the LAR1-23-02 S516H well. The filings place Formentera's new activity in the northern Williston Basin, where the Larson field is located.

The approved-permits section did not list any other operator receiving new permits in the data provided. That makes Formentera the most active operator in the new-permit category for the day.

The report's additional information section listed several operators with permit-related entries. Koda Resources Operating LLC had the largest number of items in that section, with three entries tied to wells in Divide County. The Koda entries are associated with permit numbers #41755, #41756 and #41757, according to the report. The wells are STOUT 1336-5BH, STOUT 1336-6BH and STOUT 1336-7BH. The report identifies the locations as SE SW and SW SE of Section 13-160N-102W.

Hess Bakken Investments II, LLC appeared next with two additional information entries in Williams County. The Hess entries are #42361 and #42362. The wells are GO-RAYMOND-157-97-3119H-4 and GO-RAYMOND-157-97-3119H-5. Both are listed at LOT 3 02-156N-98W.

Devon Energy Williston, L.L.C. also had one additional information entry: #42686, for DAYTONA 6-5-4 1H at LOT 6 06-154N-102W in Williams County.

The DMR report separately listed three wells released from confidential status. Devon Energy Williston accounted for two of them, both in McKenzie County's Grinnell field: #41481, BARBARA 31-30F 8TFH, and #41484, BARBARA 31-30F 4TFH. The report places both wells at SE SE 36-154N-97W.

Phoenix Operating LLC had the other released-from-confidential entry, #42486, for MJ 1 SWD, located at NW SW 27-159N-101W in Williams County's Zabl area, according to the report.

The DMR grouped the Koda, Hess and Devon entries under additional information, while the last three wells were listed as released from confidential status.

The filings show Formentera as the most active operator among newly approved permits, while Koda led the additional information entries by count. Devon was active across both categories, with one additional information filing and two wells released from confidential status. Hess and Phoenix each appeared in the report through additional information or release listings.

For Bakken operators and royalty owners, the report highlights continued permit activity and status changes in Burke, Divide, Williams and McKenzie counties. The new Formentera permits concentrate in the Larson field, while the released confidential wells bring more visibility to the Grinnell and Zabl areas.

No New Activity Reported in DMR Daily Filing for Sunday

No new drilling or permitting activity was reported for North Dakota in the Department of Mineral Resources' daily activity report for Sunday, November 1, according to the agency. The DMR daily report typically lists new drilling permits approved, wells spudded (drilling commenced), completions reported, and wells plugged. The absence of new filings indicates a quiet day for regulatory filings from operators across the Bakken formation and Williston Basin. Days with no reported activity are not uncommon, particularly on weekends and during holidays, when state offices are closed and company reporting may be delayed. The next report, expected later today, will reflect any filings processed on Monday, November 2. The daily activity report is a key indicator of near-term operational tempo for oil and gas producers in the state. A sustained period of low or no permitting activity can signal a pullback in drilling plans, while a surge in spud or...

DMR Daily Activity Report Shows No New Filings for Saturday

The North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources (DMR) daily activity report for Saturday, October 31, 2026, showed no new regulatory filings, according to the agency's data release. The daily report typically lists new drilling permits approved, wells spudded (drilling commenced), wells completed, and wells plugged. The absence of new activity is a normal occurrence, particularly on weekends and holidays when field operations and regulatory paperwork submissions often slow. The Bakken formation and broader Williston Basin remain a primary driver of oil production in North Dakota. While daily permitting and drilling activity can fluctuate, the overall pace of development is tracked through weekly and monthly reports issued by the DMR. Operators and service companies will look to next week's reports for updated activity levels. The next significant data point will be the release of the state's weekly rig count, which provides a broader snapshot of active drilling operations across the play.
