The DMR Daily Activity Report listed seven permits approved in yesterday's filings, with Burlington Resources Oil & Gas Company LP accounting for five of the approvals and MoonRacer Resources LLC accounting for two. The report identified the permits by approval numbers #43456 through #43462 and showed a ‘CONFIDENTIAL’ field designation for each entry.

According to the DMR report, the two MoonRacer permits are #43456, CORONA 1H, and #43457, CORONA 2H. Both are located at SW NE 17-160N-84W in Renville County. The legal location is the same for the two permits, and the well names indicate a paired Corona sequence.

Burlington's five permits are all located at NW NW 23-148N-98W in McKenzie County. The DMR report lists them as #43458, HBU SAGEBRUSH 7S MBH; #43459, HBU SAGEBRUSH 8S MBH; #43460, HBU SAGEBRUSH 2N MBH; #43461, HBU SAGEBRUSH 9S MBH; and #43462, HBU SAGEBRUSH 3N MBH.

The permit list makes Burlington the most active operator in the day's DMR filings by number of approvals, while MoonRacer is the second operator listed. The five Burlington permits cluster around one legal subdivision in McKenzie County, and the two MoonRacer permits cluster around one legal subdivision in Renville County.

For Bakken operators, royalty owners and North Dakota producers, DMR permit filings are a routine regulatory marker of where companies have secured approval to pursue drilling activity. The Bakken formation is North Dakota's primary oil-producing region, and permit approvals often draw attention from leaseholders tracking operator interest.

The DMR report shows the HBU Sagebrush names with directional suffixes, including 7S, 8S, 9S, 2N and 3N, and MBH designations. The Corona names include 1H and 2H. All seven permits are listed with the ‘CONFIDENTIAL’ field designation in the report.

By operator, the day's approved permits are divided between a five-well Burlington group in McKenzie County and a two-well MoonRacer group in Renville County. The DMR data for this report centers on permit approvals.

Permit-by-permit, the DMR report lists:

  • #43456: MoonRacer Resources LLC, CORONA 1H, SW NE 17-160N-84W, Renville County, ‘CONFIDENTIAL’ field.
  • #43457: MoonRacer Resources LLC, CORONA 2H, SW NE 17-160N-84W, Renville County, ‘CONFIDENTIAL’ field.
  • #43458: Burlington Resources Oil & Gas Company LP, HBU SAGEBRUSH 7S MBH, NW NW 23-148N-98W, McKenzie County, ‘CONFIDENTIAL’ field.
  • #43459: Burlington Resources Oil & Gas Company LP, HBU SAGEBRUSH 8S MBH, NW NW 23-148N-98W, McKenzie County, ‘CONFIDENTIAL’ field.
  • #43460: Burlington Resources Oil & Gas Company LP, HBU SAGEBRUSH 2N MBH, NW NW 23-148N-98W, McKenzie County, ‘CONFIDENTIAL’ field.
  • #43461: Burlington Resources Oil & Gas Company LP, HBU SAGEBRUSH 9S MBH, NW NW 23-148N-98W, McKenzie County, ‘CONFIDENTIAL’ field.
  • #43462: Burlington Resources Oil & Gas Company LP, HBU SAGEBRUSH 3N MBH, NW NW 23-148N-98W, McKenzie County, ‘CONFIDENTIAL’ field.

The filings show that Burlington's approvals are grouped under the HBU Sagebrush name at the same legal location, while MoonRacer's approvals are grouped under the Corona name at the same legal location.

The permit numbers run consecutively from #43456 to #43462, and the DMR report identifies the operator, well name, legal location, county and confidential field status for each approval.

For royalty owners, the geographic clustering is a basic feature of the daily report: five approvals in McKenzie County and two approvals in Renville County.
